Back in April we talked about a new game called Isle of Arrows from Daniel Lutz, former Creative Director on Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO while at Square Enix Montreal. The idea is that it’s a tower defense game but one that you’ll play sort of “on the fly” as you’ll need to build out your defenses by way of randomly drawn tile cards. These tiles can be the actual tower types, bonus abilities, land expansion, and tons more, and you’ll need to figure out how best to gear things up based on the hands that you’re dealt before taking on waves of enemies. While that all sounds cool on paper, how does Isle of Arrows actually work? I’m glad you asked, because Mr. Lutz has put together this brief but helpful new overview video that goes into some of the details about how this genre mashup plays.

Another reason for creating this latest video other than to explain the game’s unique mechanics is that Isle of Arrows is also part of the Steam Next Fest that is happening as we speak. That means that Mac or Windows users who are curious to check it out early can do so by way of a free demo on Steam. The full game will be coming to iOS and Android in addition to desktop, naturally, and while there’s no specific release date set just yet Isle of Arrows is shooting for release this summer, so look for it sometime in the next few months and be sure to check out the demo on desktop in the meantime.

  1. Hello, I currently own two authentic ID8 cabs. They did not come with a server, but I had someone prepping a ring edge to work for it. It got a little complicated and he got busy. These cabs are for an event that takes place in 8 days. I can bring them and run them as separate but was hoping someone maybe had an alternative? I wasn’t sure if the server has been successfully emulated. Just trying to get the two cabinets to play each other.

  2. So me and a friend were talking about the arcade that were in town time ago. And he asked about the name of a game that I only remember some levels and the boss fight. The game is for 2 players and there are multiple locations to fight in against other IA controlled enemies. One of the locations is a big cruise boat were u fight in a kitchen with ur friend. There is a bedroom looking room, if i'm not wrong and for sure other locations i can't quite rememeber. Ater all those fights you take a wooden boat and head to the final boss (big looking ninja guy). where after beating him u will need to save a girl he took at the start of the game. But you and your friend both wants to stay with her. So you and your friend fight to the death. After the fight the winner takes the girl with him and that's it as i remember. If u have any idea please comment i really would like to play that game with my friends. Sorry for the bad english it's not my first leanguage.
